The Lightning is magnificently made for the fast man and miles ahead in styling, quality and weather protection. Features include: Two zipped side pockets and two zipped chest pockets, a handy change pocket on the left sleeve, zip cuffs and an adjustable waist for a snug fit and sleek line. A dipped back provides extra protection from the elements. Made from the premium hand-selected hide.

The 391 Lightning jacket first entered the Lewis Leathers range in 1958, it was always a popular style and became our all time bestseller from the 70’s to date after it became the jacket adopted by the British punk groups, notably with the Clash and Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols. The Lightning is seen outside the UK as being a very ‘British Style’ as it uses 4 side adjuster belts instead of the half belt common in American jackets even now.

We take pride in making our jackets to the exacting specifications of the period in which they originated.
Great care and attention to detail has been taken to maintaining the heritage and integrity of our jackets and patterns, right down to the custom made reproduction zippers and even the linings. Because of this, our jackets do not necessarily live up to the present-day riding safety standards and are not intended to do so.
